Standing in front of her grave, the sky now dark and filled with nothing but the light of the stars, the spikey haired man fell to his knees after staring at her grave for hours in disbelief. A sudden release of tears that had welled up in his eyes for so long finally let lose, pouring down his hot cheeks as he started sobbing. Looking up at the sky, the boy screamed at the top of his lungs, rejecting reality itself, the reality that didn't have her in his life. Through his sobs, he cursed himself, blaming himself over and over again, disgusted at his own weakness and inability to save the one he held so dear.

"Damn it... DAMN IT! You didn't have to die! It should have been me! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME! DAMN IT!"

His fist pounded the ground, his figure slumped over and his hands grasped handfuls of the soil that had been dug up earlier in order to lower the casket into the ground. Weeping and sobbing like a child, he felt no will to leave her side again.
As he sobbed, a girl looked down from her place above, tears trickling down her cheeks at the sight of her loved one weeping on the ground before her tombstone. Descending from her place on high, the girl gently embraced him as he sat up to look towards the starry sky once more. He could no longer sense her, let alone feel her warmth, after all he had already died once to become the monster that he was now. She stroked his cheek with her ghostly white hand, holding him gently as she smiled.

"I can hear you..."

He turned around and ran into her.  The girl of eyes as blue as the ocean and hair as bright as the sun.  He was met with tears, same as him and a sorrow in those precious eyes that he could understand.

"Why are you sad Omega?"

Why?  Why was he sad?  What type of question was that?

He stared at her with a mixture of confusion and anger.  How dare he ask her a question like that, especially after all he has been through?  "Why am I sad?  Eos are you really asking me this question?!"  Omega sneered as he turned his back to his lover and stared down on her tombstone.  Sorrow filled him and made him feel ill.  He never liked this place and even now he wish he could just turn and run away.  Even if it meant running away from her.

"Eos, I watched you die.  I told you not to follow but you did and then I watched you die.  E-E-Eos it shouldn't have been you!  It was my mission, it was my job!"  Omega struggled to hold back the tears as he turned on his heels to face her again.  He hated yelling at her, he has always hated yelling at her, and yet he felt that his voice was unwavering.  He never really felt strong with her around.  She could always see through the façade of the fighter he tried to be.  The intensity of her bird-like eyes always pierced into his soul, making him weak and bowing to her mercy.

"Omega, you can't let this torment you.  It has been a year… why haven't you moved on?"  The ghostly woman asked with a hard look on her face.  All former trace of kindness left her, only anger remained as she inched closer towards her lover, curious for his answer.
"Move on?  MOVE ON!?  Eos, how could I?  How could you ask me to move on Eos?  I watched you die in a mission you didn't have to take."  Omega shook with anger as he bit his tongue to hold back the anger that was starting to boil over.  He remembered it clearly, her blue eyes shining brightly against the burning sun, the storm, the ambush, her golden hair soaked in her blood.  The blue from her eyes darkening to gray as her life drained from her face.

Those same eyes has haunted him ever since.

"Do you not think you were the only one who has suffered?  Do you think I regretted what I did?"  The voice was a whisper, barely heard above the breeze.  As Omega continued to glance towards the ground, he felt a cool hand brush his check, causing him to look into the eyes hat haunted him.  "Omega, I did what I did to protect you.  I didn't want to lose you, to take you from this world."

"But I didn't want to lose you either!  You are my everything Eos…what am I supposed to do?"

"Live…"

The word brought the black haired assassin to look up.  That word was so simple and yet so complicated.  Live?  How could he do that without her?

"Omega…I didn't want to leave you.  I really didn't, but you have a reason to live.  You have them."  And in that moment, Eos turned towards the pathway.  Two young beings were playing among the willows and garden.  One with long wild blond hair, creeping through the flowers and pouncing on the butterflies like a cat, with eyes as bright as rubies.  The other was humming to herself, her ebony curls framed her pale face as icy blue eyes stared off at her sister.  Those precious eyes, made Omega go numb.  Why did she have to remind him of them?

"You must live for them Omega…you weren't the only one who had loss.  They not only lost their mother…but they are losing their father as well."  Eos smiled sadly staring off at the two girls with grief.  She wanted to hold them in her arms, whisper that she loved them.  But that would hurt too much, she couldn't hurt them anymore.

"H-how can I?!  I promised them that you would be safe.  I promised I would bring you home to them.  H-h-how…How can I move on when I see you in their eyes…how can they…how can they ever-"

He didn't realize he was crying.  The thought of the two young girls, hating him for allowing their mother to die was so powerful he couldn't help but break down.  The tears of sorrow stung his eyes as he felt a lump forming in his throat.  He couldn't breathe as he fell to his knees, not caring that his heavenly lover was watching.

"Omega….they are children, but they are our children."  Eos paused for a moment, leaning over and bringing Omega close to her chest.  "They could never hate you because they know, I died to protect you.  Darling you can't blame yourself forever; they need you now, not later.  How can I ever rest if I have to worry about you three?  Don't do that to me…don't do that to them."

She was right…she was always right.  But there was still a hidden wish that he was too guilty to speak.  He didn't want her to rest; he wanted her to still be around.  He didn't want to let go of her.  And yet when he looked into her eyes, Omega knew this had to end.

"Don't worry Omega, you will be fine.  Besides…I will always be here, with you…"
And with a smile and a kiss, she was gone.  No more golden hair and no more crystal blue eyes.  Instead, there were two pairs of eyes staring up at him.  Eyes filled with innocence and sadness, her eyes and yet also his.

"Papa…why are you sad?"

"Are you sad that mama is gone?"

The questions were simple and yet they were difficult to swallow.  He stared at the blond haired girl, her ruby eyes were sad with grief and curiosity.  She was indeed young, and she wondered why this was happening.

"I….I am sad my dears.  I… I blamed myself for not bringing your mama back.  But-" Omega paused as he stared at the two young girls. And for a brief moment he could have sworn he saw his Eos again, smiling at him.  "But I'm not going to be sad anymore.  Because even though she is gone, I still have you two.  My precious girls, Nike and Zeta.  My beautiful little birds."  Omega smiled as he tried to push bad the tears.  He had to be strong for them, they were hurting too.

He wasn't alone.

He stood up and with all the strength he could muster, he pulled the two twin girls into a hold as they started to leave.  The blond haired Zeta curled into the crook of his neck, her bird ears flapping ever so lightly in the breeze.  And the ebony haired Nike, with all of her spirit pulled out of his embrace and climbed on his back to let her wings spread openly.

"Papa?"

"Yes dear?"

"Can you tell us how you met mama again?"

"Hm….if you are a good girl, maybe I will tell it to you as a bed time story."

"Okay…Papa?  I miss her…"

"Me too, Nike…But she is still here with us.  She is always here."
